Phantom Publishing proudly presents The Dud Witch, the witty, fast-paced, and fiercely romantic first installment in the new Veilborn Series by acclaimed author Eliza Nevius, creator of the hit The Jaded Knight of the Lux Bellator universe.
Blending supernatural suspense, slow-burn romance, and razor-sharp humor, The Dud Witch transports readers into a world where light and shadow, love and danger, are bound by fate.
About the Book
When eighteen-year-old witch Emma Monroe goes from “Dud Witch” to Lux Bellator trainee, her world goes from mundane to adventurous in the span of hours. Enter Drake Lucas, a brooding warlock with enough secrets to fill a grimoire. Now, forced to work together under the watchful eye of their mentor Kellan (and an infuriatingly smug talking cat), Emma must master her erratic magic, survive the city’s supernatural underbelly, and figure out why every dark force suddenly wants her dead.
With the snark of The Mortal Instruments and the romantic tension of A Court of Thorns and Roses, The Dud Witch delivers a hilarious, heart-racing journey through magic, mayhem, and the messy business of falling for your reluctant partner in chaos.
Author Quote
“Emma’s story started as a love letter to all the women who’ve been told they’re too much—or not enough,” says Eliza Nevius. “She’s chaotic, brave, wildly imperfect, and still manages to save the world (and maybe her own heart) along the way.”
